BRUCE MOYLE - FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHER

About the Work

The eight works on display explore the connectivity of textured emotions. The playfulness’s of Dance and the melancholy of Schism. The work is my most fundamental step within my own experience of being human. Our fractured identities that we all have. The internal vs the external. The path we all tread each and every day, knowingly or not. We all create a personality of emotional textures which makes us who we are.

About the Artist

Bruce Moyle is a photographic fine artist based out of Launceston, Tasmania. His work explores human emotions via abstract images that are mainly created using portraiture. Bruce is never one to truly assign an outcome to what the viewer should feel when taking in his work, but loves to see the gray, the different, the texture of everyone’s experience. His work has been exhibited internationally and locally in Australia and has been commissioned by individuals and companies globally.

Bruce became a member of Australian Institute of Professional Photographers in 2016 and was a finalist in the Portrait Category at the Australian Professional Photography Awards in 2018. He also won the first place at The Portrait Conference in 2018 for his portrait Imperfect Perfect. When not creating art, Bruce is running the successful media company Joffre Street Productions and playing with his daughter Ebony.

Framed 75 x 75 cm

From a distance, she is everything. Close up, she is even more. She is fragile, she is strong, she is evocative, she is tempered glass.

Image captured using the artist’s Reduction Technique in-camera effect with mirroring effect created in post-production.

I love the use of abstract image creation which takes on a new identity from the original capture. The idea of creating more of a glass look to the model’s form is a fascinating dance between exposure, contrast and detail which I have brought forward

ESCAPE

Framed 75 x 65 cm

To weather the storm, sometimes we just need to be slightly ahead of the bubble.

Image is a mix of macro and telephoto captures, processed to feel more like a graphite drawing than a pure photo.

Thought bubbles can be amazing, stressing, genius or even depressing. The idea of packing up, getting on a plane to get away from our thoughts is something we all do. What do you do to change? I personally get out and cafe hop to hear the hustle and bustle of others and loose myself.

SCHISM

2017-Giclée print on fine art cotton rag

Limited Edition 1 of 30 -Signed-Certificate of Authenticity

Framed 75 x 75 cm

Moving-churning-fracturing-rebuilding-repeat.

Image captured using the artist’s Reduction Technique in-camera effect with colour toning done in post production. I find as we get older that the dichotomy of what we are internally and externally goes through phases. Mental health is something that is completely affected by these phases. What is the schism to you

DANTE’S PATH

2018-Giclée print on fine art cotton rag Limited Edition 1 of 50-Signed-Certificate of Authenticity

Framed 75 x 75 cm

You move always, regardless of progression.

Image is a macro capture.

Everyone either looks at this as a tunnel towards the light or travelling away from it. Regardless of how you feel about the path, we all journey towards something.

Framed 70 x 70 cm

Have you journeyed across your own landscape?

Image is a macro capture.

Within the fine art photography community there is a beautiful subset of aerial image creators that look at our world from up on high. I wanted to do something similar but on a macro level to show, just like they do, the history of someone, anyone via the lines, scars and aging. The beauty of our time is every present within our skin.

DANCE

Open Edition - Signed - Certificate of Authenticity -

Framed 60 x 60 cm

The joy of movement.

Image captured using the artist’s Reduction Technique in camera effect.

This image has a special place in my heart. The joy of creating with happy collaborators. The mistakes within the creation process that can open an entirely new way of thinking, working and seeing. This image embodies all that with its history.

DESCENSION

Open Edition-Signed-Certificate of Authenticity

Framed 60 x 60 cm

Towards singularity compression with the fall towards the infinite.

I find as we get older that the dichotomy of what we are internally and externally goes through phases. The forces pull and push but in the end we ultimately become one.
