What We Do Today Impacts The Future Generations
Recently I was invited to attend the City Mission Launch of the Pay It Forward Campaign. Their purpose and goals for the kids in our community resonated with me in such a way that I knew that we can make a difference but only if we act now.
As Launceston employers for close to 30 years, we have found ourselves mentoring, guiding and supporting both young and older team members. Some have come to us with issues that have been with them since they were kids and have often said that if they had received support when they were younger they would have had an entirely different outcome.
There’s nothing more rewarding to make a difference to a team members life both on a professional and personal level.
Imagine what impact we would have on our community in future generations if we were able to make a difference now to kids? It would make the difference to someone having the confidence to apply for a job, move interstate to study, join a sports team, be actively involved in the community, see the worth in themselves and the value they can add to others.
Opportunities and confidences we have and often take for granted, others can only dream of.... if only they got help earlier on.
Receiving support early on and being mentored in coping mechanisms to deal with challenges, anxieties and adversities is often all is needed to get them through life.
Money raised through the Pay It Forward will go towards providing our youth with the support and early intervention they might need. Our aim is to help as many young people as possible so they can mature to be individuals that are well adjusted and have healthy relationships in society.
Join us at Elaia over the next few weeks as we raise awareness and funds for the kids in our community. They are our future leaders, teachers, baristas, nurses, personal trainers, beauty therapists, motor mechanics...
