Summer Is Served
Given the weather of late, I may be ambitious serving up summer, but now we’re this close to December I can’t help but be inspired. So have our Chefs as they've been busy in our test kitchen ensuring it passes the 'Yiayia' test. Our Yemista, Greek baked stuffed vegetables were a sell out after two days. A perfect vegetarian meal or shared as a side. Chef John insisted using his Greek Grandmothers (Yiayia's) recipe. Peppers, tomatoes and zucchinis stuffed with rice, more vegetables and seasoned with Greek herbs to give that authentic mediterranean flavour. Delicious dish to enjoy over the warmer months.
Kali Orexi!
summer is served in a bottle. Peter Caldwell winemaker and friend of Elaia for many years, has outdone himself yet again with the Dalrymple Cave Block Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes: white floral aromas mingle with early season peach, honeysuckle, lime zest and fresh ginger. Hints of flint and spice add an extra complexity.
There you go, summer and festive.
The part I'm most excited about is that it's 'best enjoyed with Greek chicken, roasted capsicum and zucchini'. Perfect quaff with our Chicken Souvlaki and Yemista. Available by the glass and bottle over the summer months. Stin Igia Mas!
